I'll also have grapes, bananas, licorice, and some homemade applesauce choc chip cookies. What do we need to do about water? Do we need to bring rolls and lunchmeat or anything like that?

I will bring water! And here in Texas we picked up water along the way just so we didn't have to have a van full of water :)

I think I can also bring a tarp, turns out. And other snacky stuff.

I have window paint to decorate the van. What else do we want? c'mon... we've gotta be cute and clever. Which of you is cute and clever....speak up! : D

How cute and clever can you get with decorating a car (especially a nice car that you don't want to ruin)? That is one thing I've never really done before, but it sounds like it could be fun. Seriously, aside from window paint, what can you do? Balloons? Banners? Magnets?

My parents have a "turtle shell" that could go on top of the van to hold things like sleeping bags, etc if we decide to go that route. I think they are allowed aren't they? And of course it would have to be ok with Chelle since it's her van. I don't care if we don't use it, I just thought I'd throw it out there. oh yeah...i've got more candy to bring. Sad, I know.

Can you use it on any van? I have the racks, so it seems like it would work. It would be great to use it, because I think the sleeping bags are a really good idea.
Does anyone know how we could plug in christmas lights? That's a great idea, too. Is there some kind of adaptor for that?

and their ain't no shame in bringing more candy. All rules go out the window when you are sleeping in your van. : )

yep--there are adaptors to convert the thing in your car to a regular plug. I'm pretty sure I have one.

Kristyn said...

yep it should work on your van. We just should use some tie-down straps. If no one has some I can buy some to bring.

Scratch that "Turtle Shell" offer--SORRY--I just learned my brother took it with him when he moved to Michigan. Dang! Does anyone else have one?

I think Erin said she has converters for the lights too. We should check on that if you are serious about it.

I don't have converters but I have a plug splitter to give us a few more car outlets.
