And I'm willing to host it in my back yard. Some of you are "Marathon Mommies" (that's how I know you and love you!) and you'll remember that the night before get together before the SL Marathon was really, REALLY fun. Here's the thing: I live in Holladay and I just don't know if that is a convenient place for us to meet up.
Where is everyone coming from/staying? Should we meet somewhere more centrally located? Downtown at the Gateway? It would be great fun to have the chance to meet members of BOTH of our teams. I won't be disappointed if I don't host, I just throw it out there as an option.
I also won't be sad if the general consensus is that it would be too tricky to get together (one more night away from our families).

I have a total of 4 nights away from my family, so I'm in for whatever. But I'm at the mercy of my gracious hostess as well. I think you're generous to host and that it would be a ton of fun.
Chelle,
You beat me to the suggestion! I'm sure I'll get to know my own team more than they'd care to know me during the race, but I'd really, really like to meet the other team as well.
If this offer helps, I'd be happy to spearhead the organization:
My parents live in Logan and have a good-sized back yard. I'm sure they'd be happy to host our little get-together on Thursday night before the race. We could make it a potluck BBQ to do a little carbo-loading or we could just do dessert and spend an hour or two chatting.
If everyone won't be staying in Logan Thursday night, perhaps we can try to accomodate those in the SLC area at Chelle's house and those in Logan at mine. That way, everyone would have an opportunity to meet at least some of the other women.
I'm in the Ogden area (Roy), and I am up for whatever. I think Kelly will be with me Thursday night (or maybe coming from Provo/SLC area that day). Being that our start time isn't until 12:30 I don't think we'll be staying in Logan. We are up for whatever get-together we can because we really want to meet you all too.
I know Lindsay, kari, Jenny O (I think) and I are not going to be in Logan the night before :) Let me help Chelle.... Just give me assignments and I am happy to do whatever because as it stands right now we will be in SLC by the 11th so I will have plenty of time to get stuff done :)
Hooray for party throwers!! I am happy to go wherever the party is. We should get a consensus of where everyone will be coming from. As Kristyn said, I will be with her. I will be happy to go to either location, but I would love it if we could just have one place for everyone to meet that night.
Chelle and Angie, thanks for your offers. It's going to be so fun!!!
I'm in Brigham so I'm closer to Logan but will go wherever the party is. Thanks for offering girls! I can't wait to meet all of you.
What's halfway between Salt Lake City and Logan?... Brigham City? Ogden?
Maybe something like that could accommodate everyone together for one big party. We could meet at a local park or something.
Actually, I think Holladay is the midpoint for a lot of us--Amydear and I will be in Alpine. Marianne is in Provo, Mandy is in Springville. We are all IN for the par-tay. Thanks, Chelle, for offering to be the hostess. We would love to bring whatever we can! Yay for parties!
Darn. I don't think I'll be able to make it to Holladay from Idaho on Thursday evening, but I'll still get into Logan that night if there are others that want to get together there. Otherwise, I'll just meet up with you all on race day! :-)
Okay, if this is a crazy idea, just tell me so, but how about we try to do both? If Chelle has an early dinner thingamajig, then we could head to Logan to Angie's for a dessert thing. I would love for everyone to be accommodated but maybe I am too idealistic?
Thoughts?
I added a poll at the top of the page. Please feel free to still comment and state your support for a place. :-) I can't wait to meet all of you!!! What fantastic women we have here. Chelle is right- the party before the SL Marathon last year was a blast.
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, my knowledge of Utah geography nil, so just tell me where to be and I'll hope that my sister will want to be at my beck and call. :)
I'm in Brigham City too. I'm interested in getting together with those up North who aren't able to do the Holladay thing.
Sounds great! I'm in Salt Lake City, so definetly count me in for dinner the night before. Lunch up in Logan the day of sounds great too! We should all be up there by then, right? Also, It migt be early for this, but does anyone in the Salt Lake City area wouls like to carpool to Logan?
